Henhouse Henry (1949) Review: Unpacking Foghorn's Hijinks!

In this episode, I review the classic Looney Tunes short 'Henhouse Henerey' with my good friend, S.C MacPeter. Released on July 2, 1949, and directed by Robert McKimson, this cartoon features two intertwined storylines involving Foghorn Leghorn, who plays pranks on Barnyard Dog, and Henry Hawk, who is on a mission to find a chicken. I delve into fascinating trivia, such as Foghorn's first singing appearance in this short, and discuss why Henry Hawk was initially pushed as the main character due to his popularity in comics. We also celebrate the standout Barnyard Dog antics and Manny Gould’s expressive animation style, highlighting its impact and charm.
